My first generation iPod died about a month ago. It was a bit sad to hear it push out its last few bytes after 5 years. I miss it. I'm bridging the gap between my next mp3device with an iPod Shuffle. I say mp3 device because I'm aiming to get an all in one (phone, pda, mp3 player, with wifi and bluetooth) device. Not sure if it exists yet for a reasonable price. The new iPod video, however, is very cool. It opens up a huge opportunity for take away media. It's the perfect extension of my home entertainment center plans - video content on my train commute to work in the morning. Mac Mini, EyeTV, one big whopping hard drive and now the new iPod. All those BBC documentaries, Travel Channel's Pilot Guides, replays of the weekend's pro cycling events and the news I can take with me. Don't even get me started on what's coming from the net over the next year. It's wide open. I love it.
