Beijing is an excellent Chinese city that's a strange balance between modern and ancient China. The city is HUGE. They are building skyscrapers on every corner that are not only tall, but take up huge blocks of the city. As Westerners you stick out like a sore thumb. People are very interested in looking at you and when you use any bit of Chinese they giggle and seem to really appreciate it - 謝謝 !. [ more pics ]
